The
Swiss artist Anne Marie Trechslin is undoubtedly one of the major
contemporary representatives of this genre. After taking her university
entrance exam, she attended the School of Applied Arts and worked for a
graphic artist who failed to recognize her talent. In the end, she
launched out on a free-lance career, gradually developing into the
successful painter of roses she is today. Using fine brushes and water
colors, she makes these flowers bloom on paper with scientific precision
and considerable artistic talent. Anne Marie Trechslin now has a worldwide
reputation and was even invited to tea by the late Queen Mother who
congratulated her on her work.
